“ Excellent food and service. Everything is fresh and delicious. Best nachos on Kent island ”
“ Prices are good. Decent variety on the menu. Food was ok/good but didn't knock my socks off. ”
“ Great casual place with realy good authentic central American food. Very tasty and fresh with reasonable prices and good service. We will definitely be back whenever we're in the area. Highly recommend. ”
“ Their Tacos are incredible! Made with the great tortillas! The pupusas are so good too! So glad to have found a pupusaria right off the highway ”
“ Add this to the list of true gems found only due to Yelp! I remember my first pupusa from my time in LA and how revelatory it was: crispy pupusa filled with beans and cheese and meat, so perfect with the zingy spicy fresh cabbage slaw on top--and I haven't had an excellent one in at least a decade. Until now. The pupusas (smaller) and pupusa loca (has meat and larger) are incredible. But the rest of the food we had here was fabulous and my toddler who often gets distracted by other patrons and taking in everything going on could not stop eating her dish and stealing bites of mine. We also had the stewed lengua platter with rice and beans which was tender yet flavorful and homey and comforting, and chips and guacamole, and that was excellent too which warmed and perfectly crispy chips and fresh avocado with some cilantro and tomato. Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was homey hole-in-the-wall. This will be a stop we repeat when we are next driving through in our way to the DE beaches. ”
“ While some people find walking into an eating establishment with no native speakers as patrons intimidating, I tend to get excited since I usually brace myself for a meal I know is going to be authentic without compromise. Having spent two long weekends in Kent Island, this Salvadoran joint never disappoints. Obviously one should order the namesake pupusas, a humble cornflour fried flatbread filled with a range of delicious fillings including melted cheese, refried beans, meat, and my personal favorite, loroco which is an edible flower that has a taste between a broccoli and a squash. Usually the richness is cut with a spicy vinegary cabbage slaw which they make in house. They also have some stellar soups chock full of chunky vegetables, stewed meats and tripe, as well as a killer seafood soup with a generous amount of shellfish slow simmered to create an umami-rich broth akin to a bouillabaisse minus the Provençal herbs. Lots of other Central American options such as steak, whole fried fish, and tacos to round out the menu with indigenous beverage options. For those who plan to take their food to go, it is conveniently located next to a well stocked liquor store with a nice selection of beers/spirits to round out the feast. ”
“ Love this hidden gem. I crave their steak tacos and horchata (in picture). They're known for their papusas but I've eaten so many papusas lately (legit went from one papuseria to another until I was papusa'd out, if that's even possible), so lately my go to is tacos, tacos, tacos! Their guacamole is also on point. Perfect amount of onion and cilantro as well as a splash of lime. The service is fast, and the ambience is simple but calm. Nicely decorated with items and pictures from El Salvador I believe. They just re-did the inside to add more sit down booths, which is awesome! Can't wait to go back... already having another craving! ”
“ Such a hole-in-the-wall place on Kent Island. On our way back from Chincoteague Island, my girlfriends' and I stopped by the place for a quick lunch. Honestly, it is in a remote location and you would have to know where it is from the highway exit to get there. We ordered a variety of different foods from tacos, sopas, to pupusas. If anyone is unaware, pupsas are traditionally salvadorian corn pancakes that are usually filled with cheese or meats. It is very similar to arepas. Everything was so good. Very flavorful and the tortillas/ pupusas (anything made with masa) was fresh and delicious. They were also very generous with the filling of tacos. They were also very quick- we got our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering. Best of all, everything is so affordable! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quick lunch spot in the area away from the touristy-Annapolis! ”
“ I called my order in ahead of time because some reviews stated that the restaurant can be closed during stated business hours. A woman helped take my order over the phone and recommended I arrive in 20 min to pick it up. The restaurant is more or less a "Hole in the wall" with a couple well worn booths lining the walls. The service was warm and friendly and my order was prepared perfectly. I asked for extra cabbage and they were happy to oblige. I ordered tacos Salvadoreno, lengue guisada and vegan pupusas. The pupusas were a little soggy and bland but decent with the cabbage. The lengue guisada was delicious!!! I'd definitely order that again. There isn't a lot of ethnic food in the area so I was excited to find this Salvadoran restaurant. ”
